A Legacy of Service.
Building the Future Through Relationships.
Legacy Program Specialists was founded on the belief that planned giving is ultimately about people—their values, their hopes, and the lasting impact they want to make.
For decades, Greg Lassonde helped nonprofit organizations develop legacy giving programs grounded in thoughtful stewardship and trusted relationships.
Today, Mitch Ashley continues that tradition. While bringing his own perspective and experience, he remains guided by the same commitment to practical advice, genuine partnership, and helping organizations build programs that grow stronger year after year.
Our Philosophy
Successful legacy giving doesn't begin with legal documents or financial strategies.
It begins with trust.
When organizations consistently care for their donors, communicate their mission clearly, and invite meaningful conversations, planned gifts become a natural extension of lasting relationships.
What Guides Our Work
Relationships over transactions.
Practical solutions over unnecessary complexity.
Stewardship over solicitation.
Long-term partnerships over short-term wins.

Over the many years I have known and worked with Mitch Ashley, I have come to value his rare combination of planned giving expertise, donor-centered communication, technical skill, and meticulous follow-through.
At the San Francisco Symphony, Mitch became the face of planned giving for members of our Legacy Society. He cultivated donor relationships, secured gift commitments, administered estates, managed complex reporting and database responsibilities, and explained sophisticated giving strategies in clear, accessible terms—without losing sight of the people and values behind each gift.
As I retire from my consulting practice after nearly two decades, I am pleased to know that the legacy I created will continue in Mitch’s capable hands.
